Camden Town Brewery is a brewery based in Camden, London. It was founded in 2010 by Jasper Cuppaidge, the grandson of Laurie McLaughlin who ran McLaughlin’s Brewery in Rockhampton, Australia from 1910-1960. The brewery is now owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev since 2015. They offer a variety of beverages including beers, lagers, ales, stouts and more.
Jasper Cuppaidge started Camden because he wanted the beer to be better. He wanted people to fall in love with beer again and appreciate drinking clean, crisp and fresh beer. Camden Town Brewery uses the best possible ingredients and brews its beer the right way without taking any shortcuts.
The first batch of beer Jasper brewed was a birthday present for his mother Patricia in honour of his grandfather Laurie. The cask ale he brewed was based on one of his grandfather’s old recipes. After that first batch, Jasper decided he liked brewing and continued to brew more batches. Soon Mac’s beer (which is what he called his grandfather’s brew) was constantly on tap at The Horseshoe pub and became so popular that Jasper started selling it to his friends who owned pubs too.
