Yeastie Boys is an independent brewing company based in Wellington, New Zealand. It was founded in 2008 by Stu McKinlay and Sam Possenniskie, two of New Zealand’s leading beer activists and visionaries. Yeastie Boys have been brewing deliciously irreverent ales, picking up trophies, innovating, poking their tongues out at conventions, and receiving critical acclaim ever since their launch.
Yeastie Boys beers are brewed in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. They have a roster of three regular beers which they produce year-round and also produce a limited release of seasonal beers which they release each spring, summer, autumn and winter. Some of their most popular beers include Pot Kettle Black (a South Pacific Porter), Digital IPA (an open-source new world IPA) and Brett Saison (a wild ale fermented with Brettanomyces yeast).
Yeastie Boys are known for their innovative and experimental brewing techniques. They are not afraid to push the boundaries of what is possible with beer, and they are always looking for new ways to create unique and delicious flavours. Their beers are often described as being complex, flavorful and well-balanced.
